FLS Rotor/Stator Pump and Rotary Spray Nozzle for Manholes

Overview
The FLS Rotor/Stator Pump and Spray Nozzle is the material delivery system used in conjunction with Flow-Liner's "60-Minute Solution" for manhole restoration. The two main components include the Pump Model FLS-200 which provides continuous flow of Flow-Liner™ products and the Rotary Spray Nozzle Model SPN-750 for spin-cast application. This equipment is recommended for applying Flow-Liner™ substrate repair, waterproofing and corrosion-resistant products within manholes. Accessory equipment used with the pump and spray nozzle includes a compressor, generator and material hoses.

Typical FLS Rotor/Stator Pump                                       FLS Rotary Spray Nozzle in Action

Benefits
  • Reduces confined space entry and improves safety.
  • Substantially increases the production rate for material application.
  • Accommodates diverse materials including Flow-Liner's resurfacing, waterproofing and corrosion-resistant products.
  • Mobility allows equipment access to remote locations.
  • Demonstration programs are available through Flow-Linerâ„¢
Primary Components
  • Rotor/Stator Pump Model FLS-200. The pump is equipped with a 15 gallon hopper attached and mounted on a steel frame with wheels.
  • Spinning Nozzle Assembly Model SPN-750 with internal air motor.
  • Model PE-100-1 Pole Gun with aluminum spray-head for straight-shot applications.
  • Moisture Separator Model DA300-FRO-1 for collecting condensation within air lines.
Standard Supplemental Equipment
  • Material hose of 1 inch diameter and 15 feet length with internal expanded male ends and cam locks. Capacity of 300 psi required.
  • Air hose of 3/4 inch diameter and 50 feet length from compressor to Moisture Separator. Specify 200 psi and 2 lug Chicago fittings.
  • Air hose of 1/2 inch diameter and 50 feet length from compressor to Wet Spray Nozzle. Specify 200 psi and 2 lug Chicago fittings.
  • Air hose of 1/2 inch diameter and 15 feet length from Moisture Separator to Spinning Nozzle Assembly. Specify 200 psi capacity with 1 end Chicago fitting and 1 end brass female swivel.
  • Cam-Lock couplings of 1 inch and 3/4 inch diameter (2 sets each).
  • Compressor, generator and accessories may be sourced locally.
Procedure
Upon completion of mixing Flow-Liner™ products, they are loaded into the large stainless steel hopper. The material is gravity-fed down the hopper to the rotor/stator assembly where it is pumped to the spinning nozzle. The whole assembly is mounted on a steel tubular frame for stability and ease of movement. Avoid mixing solvents with Flow-Liner material. Solvents may damage the rotor/stator and compromise the effectiveness of Flow-Liner's product. The pump is powered by an electric or air motor. The equipment is typically located close to the manhole and requires a material hose of only 15 feet. Product is fed from the pump to the spray unit through a 1inch diameter material hose. Separate air hoses of 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter provide air from a compressor to power the spray unit. The built-in air motor of the nozzle assembly spins the rotary head in a circular direction. As material is forced through the slots of the spinning nozzle, it is spin-cast upon the surface of the manhole. Operation of this rotary spray equipment is simple in that no adjustments of rotational speed or direction are required.

An alternative method of application using the FLS-200 Pump is to affix the PE-100-1 Straight-Shot Nozzle for direct spraying into isolated areas such as recessed mortar joints, bench areas or significant voids.
